Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Why should I hire a professional photographer.
Everyone has a smartphone, so why should I pay higher prices for a professional photographer? As more and images are put out every second, it is now more important than ever to use imagery that stands out from the average smartphone photography. That’s where professional photographers come in. Photographers are not just technicians. A professional understands how to capture images that are right for a client’s business and convey the message required. Their experience enables them to obtain successful results in difficult and challenging situations. It is as important for the photographer as it is you that the images are right for your business and convey the message you require.
  2. What are your rates?
I provide custom pricing estimates because each photoshoot is completely and beautifully unique!
  3. Why can’t photography services be cheaper?
Photographers have several expenses to get keep their business up and running. Several photographers are solo business owners and on top of photographing, they spend hours creating proposals, contracts, scheduling meetings, communicating with clients, managing finances, carrying out creative art direction, styling, retouching, and more. Also, photography equipment, props, software, travel, studios, and tax expenses are high. We make these investments to ensure we can deliver a quality client experience and images. So photography prices are reflective of the time and costs put into the business. I can assure you, it’s worth it and best for everyone!
  4. What is image licensing (also known as usage rights)?
From the moment photo is captured, the person that took that image is the legal owner. Image licensing is when the owner of the image “rents” out the photo for commercial use for an agreed amount of time and under agreed conditions. Aspects to be taken into consideration in image licensing are place of use (print or digital), the reach of the image (how many people will see the image), ad use (will the image be used in paid advertising), and exclusivity (is the client the only person that can use this image?).
  5. What is copyright?
Copyright is about the ownership of creative work. A client can purchase copyright (or exclusivity of the image), in order to revoke image use from the photographer (the original owner of the image) and to obtain rights to sell the image. This is a costly purchase and generally only necessary if the client would like to sell the image as their own.
In most cases, image licensing more than covers marketing needs. Learn more here.
  6. How will you send me the images?
The images will be shared through an online gallery platform powered by Pic-TIme. As the gallery is private and only the client has access to it, when you enter Pic-Time to view the gallery for the first time, you will be instructed to create a password. Please keep that password safe so you may return to the gallery in the future.
  7. What kind of photography do you do?
I am a photographer specialised in food and product photography. However, I have experience shooting portraits and at events, as well.
